Darker skin is better. It wrinkles less. I grew up as a fair-skinned blonde person whose father would say, "Elizabeth, you look sick. Go out in the sun and get tan." So I spent my youth as a fake dark-skinned person....and now probably have more damage to my skin than I would have had without my always tan father's insistence on turning his white kid brown. Anyway, wonderful article, June.
