I am pleased that you also believe writers write in order to connect with others. When I told a friend, a fellow writer, that I write for an audience, she told me I was wrong, as though I should be persistent even if I never envision anyone ever perusing a word of mine. I certainly am no Emily Dickenson, but I don't think that makes me a "bad writer."
