I think many gay men have a rhythm that has nothing to do with their actual voices. I know when I, as a cisgender female, am with a group of gay male friends, I pick up that rhythm. My actual voice doesn't change but my speech patterns are slightly different. It also happens to me when I am with a group of friends who have heavy New York accents. I sound different, even to myself. I guess my voice is a copycat.
