I think that used to be the case, but now with top models like Soo Joo Park and all those K-Pop stars, that attitude of seeming self-hatred has changed. (I have to say that I have a Vietnamese friend I have known for thirty years, always very blonde, and her look used to seem eccentric, but no longer.) And I don't think Beyonce, Mary L. Blige, or Joy Reid suffer from any more insecurity than anyone else. I'm not suggesting that you dye your hair, Frances. I've always wanted to have red curls, but I know my hair isn't strong enough to handle the processing. You may be right about Asian women getting fewer claps on Medium, as you have analyzed it. But if they are terrific writers like yourself, they will find an audience.
