I used to sneak "Baby and Child Care" from the bookshelves to read about "puberty." Yes, my parents maintained a copy. But I don't know you can blame Dr Spoke for the high rate of tragic SIDS, for killing thousands of babies....I believe most pediatricians of that era gave that same advice, that babies should sleep prone.
