Methinks you are correct, Jim. Thank you for this extraordinary coverage of AI-generated AI-spotters. Two years ago, when ChatGPT was initially publicized, I immediately joined OpenAI. That first day I played with it, asking it to write 1000 words about Leonardo DaVinci in the voice of J.D. Salinger. It complied. For a couple days, I toyed with Chat. I found it extraordinary. I then decided to avoid it as I knew I might be tempted to use it as a crutch, even as a cheat. I write fiction and some quirky stuff, along with more journalistic pieces. I recognize AI as a useful writing tool, but I prefer, at least for now, to write me-generated pieces. ( I stopped submitting to one publication because they insist on Grammarly, which I recognize as a helpful tool, but I choose not to employ all those extra commas and dashes.) I am certain I am not as funny as AI can be, and I may revisit Chat or one of the others in the future, but for now, I am an antique-style writer. As I mentioned, Jim, I'd love to see all A-I writing to appear in pink.
