Oh my heart! Gorgeous piece, Malky. With his pragmatic nature, your father chose a dignified farewell. I am sorry for the too early loss of your brother. I am the medical proxy for a family member who is 100 and clearly afraid of death. She has been completely bed-ridden for three years, blind and hard of hearing. She no longer even watches television or listens to the radio. But she eats constantly, although she has to be fed by someone else, and drinks enormous quantities of water. I love her very much, but don't understand why she is fighting to hang on with so little quality of life. I thought she was adhering to this life with her normal pride and determination in order to hit the big 1 0 0, but that passed six months ago.
