Social media has brought me both good and bad experiences. The bad has been from wasting far too much time on nonsense. The good has consisted of having long-disappeared friends reemerge in my life on Facebook, discovering new artists on Instagram, and even making a few new friends. During the height of COVID when I was entirely isolated, I took up a pro-masking endeavor that I called The Masked Hatter. @TheMaskedHatter on Instagram has become a book and a calendar and some of the images have been included in shows at The International Center of Photography, Hampden Gallery at the University of Massachusetts, and in art shows in Venice during the Biennale, and in New York and Miami. So I am someone who has benefitted from social media, despite some silliness and unfortunate time management.
