Sometimes embarrassment can (sadly) take over a person's life. At seven, I was told I couldn't be in my dance class's recital (because I was awkward and had trouble with the steps). I was so deeply embarrassed that have never allowed myself to dance in any situation since then. No proms, no wedding dance, etc.
