Stupendous storytelling and family history, Andrew. I have never been to Hong Kong, but many years ago I had a delightful friend in Miami named Betty Tamayo. She married the owner of the Peninsula and moved to Hong Kong. For a few years, we wrote to one another but eventually lost contact. I always thought that one day I'd travel to Hong Kong and reconnect with lovely Betty. I recently heard that she died from cancer a couple years ago.
