This DNA profiling of dogs with negligent littering owners seems a good approach. When I had dogs, I always picked up after them. I have to say, though, I was once walking a very ill friend's dog, and the dog was apparently ill herself, with diarrhea. And there was no way to pick up that liquid feces on the NYC sidewalk. What would be done in this case?
