This is a dilemma. I don't have an answer. I am the health care proxy for a nearly 100 year old relative. She has been bedridden for almost three years, with very little sight and hearing. She often hallucinates, although sometimes she is lucid. She clearly wants to live as she loves her food and is fed three delicious meals a day.
