This is well-written but makes Paris sound like a paradise for gay people. Recently, a relative and her French girlfriend were cuddling along the Seine and a group of macho Frenchmen spat at them and called them by various obscenities. I am guessing it was because they were young and pretty and choosing women over men. Perhaps if they looked like Gertrude Stein and Alice B Toklas, their show of affection would have been more acceptable to the nasty mecs.
