Very enjoyable piece. I haven't been to London in many years and I didn't know about leashed toddlers. I had a leash for my son when he was that age....he had started walking at eight and a half months and wasn't mature enough to understand "No" and I didn't want him running into the New York City streets. I did receive some dirty looks. I have to say he loved his leash and even when he was somewhat older, he would beg for it as it offered more physical freedom than holding my hand. And I can't agree with you more about the US drinking age, even wrote a story about it here.
