Wow! You received so many responses to this rant. I have to say, I feel you. I have left a few pubs because they are Grammarly obsessed, and I don't like Grammarly. I don't like commas where I don't want them and s's when I have always preferred s'. I had one story reap $300 but most of them make far far less. But I don't blame anyone at Medium for that. I have chosen not to be a niche writer. I used to write about arts and entertainment for various hard copy periodicals, but I enjoy digging into new terrain.
