Yikes. My oven is from the 50s. I have lost two uncles on two sides of my family to suicide, both in their 30's. One took pills and one, a doctor with his own little plane, flew that plane into the Delaware River. A first cousin, a grad student at Duke University, went out one morning and bought a gun and was gone later that day. That suicide, however, was a young woman. Maybe if the gun hadn't been so readily available, the world would have appeared brighter the next morning.
